Comic Relief - March 13th

Our school will be taking part in Red Nose Day on March 13th. Red Nose Day is a fundraising event run by Comic Relief which takes places every two years, with the aim to create a just world, free from poverty. In 2013 Comic Relief raised an astonishing £100.3million last to help people living incredibly tough lives both here in the UK and Africa. It also provides a great opportunity or children gain understanding and empathy for others in the world. Children will have the opportunity to make their face funny/dress up for £1, buy red noses for £1 and also take part in the Comic Relief class competition - members of each class will independently raise money with a 'sponsor me' form. Children can think of creative ways to raise money at home and at school. The class that raises the most money by the end of the week will win a movie afternoon in the hall!

Y5 Musical - Monday March 16th
Since the beginning of February, Y5 have been working with award winning composer, Chris Norton, on a musical based around their topic on Space, called Space Cadets. They have worked extremely hard over the last few weeks, learning lines, practising songs and developing dance routines and would love parents and relatives to see the final performance on Monday March 16th which will take place in the main hall at 2.45pm.  The performance will be recorded and will be available on the school website in the video section shortly after, for those that won’t be able to attend.

Read with your child day' March 17th

On Tuesday March 17th we are inviting parents/carers to come into school and read with their child. Hopefully, if the weather is nice we'll be able to do this outside in the garden area. If not we'll be setting up the hall with lots of tables, chairs and cushions. There will also be lots of nice refreshments available and also extra reading packs that you can take home and read with your child. We really would like as many parents to attend as possible, particularly dads who may not always get the opportunity to visit the school or read with their child. There will also be some special prizes for those dads that do turn up!
