Open Mornings

Each term we open our doors and invite parents into the classroom to observe a literacy lesson, a maths lesson and a guided reading session. It provides a great opportunity for parents to get an understanding of how their children are taught in these lessons and we strongly encourage parents to take the time to attend an open morning. This half term, we have open mornings for maths and writing. The maths open morning for Reception/KS1 parents is on Tuesday September 23rd at 9.00am while for KS2 parents it is on at the same time the following day. The writing open mornings are due to take place on Tuesday October 14th for Reception/KS1 and Wednesday October 15th for KS2.

During October, we will be celebrating the cultural diversity that makes Thomas Gamuel Primary School and the area that we live in so special. Through assemblies, story reading, visitors and classroom activities, we will providing children with lots of opportunities to learn about different cultures and countries from around the world. A date for your diaries is Thursday 16th October when we will be encouraging everyone to come into school in traditional clothes. At the end of the day, there will be an international food fair, where families will have the opportunity to sample cuisine from around the world. We're hoping that all of our parents will be able to contribute a special dish for the fair.
