Nursery

Our Nursery unit provides a caring and stimulating learning environment for children at the very start of their education at Thomas Gamuel.

We offer 80 part time places, split equally between morning and afternoon sessions. Morning sessions are from 8.30 – 11.30am while the afternoon session is from 12.30 – 3.15pm.

We treat each child individually according to their personal, social and emotional needs and ensured that they are well cared for and supported as, for most pupils, this will be the first time they will be separated from their parents.

Each child is allocated a key worker who will be responsible for their well-being and progression. This allows the child to become familiar and comfortable with one consistent person and will help them feel more secure in separating from their primary care giver.

During the day, the children have the opportunity to play inside and outside with activities that have been carefully prepared in line with the new EYFS framework. The children also have short carpet sessions where they will be engaged in daily Phase 1 phonics activities or learn about their numbers and days of the week. They also have whole group story times as well as singing activities.
