Student council

Elections for the School Council have now taken place with one boy and one girl elected from each class. They will hold their position in office until July 2014.

The School Council has been organised into a number of sub-committees who will be responsible for implementing actions in related to key areas such as Health and Well-Being, Teaching and Learning, Fund Raising and Staying Safe. The sub-committees meet once each half term and members are allowed bring a friend to each meeting. Minutes are taken and actions fed back to the main School Council meeting at the end of each term.

This year, the school council will also be playing a leading role in helping the school achieve UNICEF’s Rights Respecting School Award which aims to promote children’s understanding of their rights and responsibilities, linked to the 48 Articles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
